the orange - august sum-ups

given the last 3 lame, boring and 'cold' post, its clear that my life here is kinda boring and nothing much is happening except of lots to study, work and erm... study. and of course, my 'new best friend' is still my new best friend and yes. i still think that sleeping is bad for us. and no, u cannot laugh at my best friend and no, i cant go to sleep just yet. anyway, just some slight updates, before dust starts to gather here...

its august!! there are many things that is celebrated in august. of course the main ones are my both parents birthdays which are only 10 days apart. happy birthday mum and dad, best wishes and best of health to you both there. looking forward to see both of you soon in adelaide end of the year~. =) =) =)

in august also we celebrate our national day. sadly, the current condition of malaysia, the political turmoil, 'semi police state' status, media blackouts and censorship's, blogs firing at each other, and of course the latest one, anwar is back into the government as the head of opposition. though i have not been closely following the political news in malaysia after the march election ( i kinda miss out the exciting news between najib and RPK and the new anwar sodomy accusations), its clear that many malaysians think the current prime minister is going to tear malaysia apart. this are quite clear in blogs where people are calling our current PM to step down form his post and let someone else to do the job. they sounded like malaysia is going to sink to the bottom of south china sea and the only signs of the existence of malaysia left are a new island form call kinabalu island and the tip of petronas twin tower sticking out of the sea, posing threat to passing by ships. can some1 enlighten me on this issue?? there are reports on the website where many people wont be as patriotic this national day. and there are attempts to raise the national flag up side down to show signs of protest towards the current government. silly, stupid, lame, or appropriate??

on a lighter note, I WAN A BACK MASSAGE!!! BAAAAADDDDDLLLLLYYYYYYIIIEEEEE!!!
i never enjoy massages before, because i never have stiff muscles before. but recently, for some unknown reasons, my back muscles are like pulling my shoulders backwards, as if trying to split my chest open. so i got 1 of my physio mates to try massaging on me... and it works!!!! it kinda loosen up for like a night... and its stiff again... so so sad. must get them to massage again. hahaha.. lesson of the day, make good friends with health science students =)

as for my caffeine therapy, i did a detox last winter break, and it kinda works for the 1st week after uni started, and now... lets just say we got back to square one. hahaha.. i love coffee... =)

as for my job, i have already work for 4 weeks there and i am getting use to the cycle there. my body is not as tired as before which is good. i use to feel like shit before especially of fridays, going to uni in the morning and try not to kill myself in the kitchen at night. now its kinda ok. just need to balance my time well. somehow i don't really know why i choose to work, its not for the pay or i have TOO much free time. maybe is just the experience. my friend told me once, being busy means i am not wasting my life. so maybe yea, i am not wasting my life at home. haha.. anyway, working injuries has reduce to at average, 1 injury per 2 shifts compare to 1 or more injury each working night. dats why i made new friends with band aid. anyway, i will most prob stop working in october to give way to my studies and exams and super duper blardy stupid assignments.

my brain now is pilling up with tonnes of 'wondering thoughts'. and my concentration level is down the drain. i need brain food. *craving craving craving*. i use to be able to deal with this thoughts before through some concentration methods, but somehow, i cant get it started again.... i need someone to enlighten me on this issue as well.. anyone with any ideas?? maybe ginko helps.. haha..

i need a break.. seriously.. i need one....

8 reasons sleeping is bad

warning: this post carries extream meanings and read with reader's own risk. writer will not hold any responsibilities on any outcome of the post.

8 reasons why SLEEPING is BAD

1) sleep is a waste of time.
have you ever calculate how many man hours wasted in sleeping?? imagine if 1 person needs to sleep 8 hours a day. (healthy amount of sleep). we waste 56 hours a week for sleeping. a month we waste 224 hours. imagine how many things we can do with 224 hours of MAN hours.

2) people get killed/raped/rob in their sleep
how many cases have you heard that robbers break into a house of SLEEPING occupants, rob their money, rape the female occupants and then kill them?? will this happen if non of them are SLEEPING?? NO right?? if we do not sleep, robbers will not be able to enter our house unnoticed and then all this sad things will not happen.

3) sleep kills.
there are reports that people died in their sleep due to unable to breath(babies) and adults(heart attack). some babies that were not place properly in their beds will cause sudden infant deaths as they will roll over and their faces will be press again the pillow and then.. suffocate and die. as for heart attacks, many adults will be safe if they were not sleeping that time. heart attacks usually comes with symptoms. how on earth the adult will feel the symptoms when he/she is sleeping?? with the symptoms they can get help to prevent heart attack. but no, they are sleeping.. how to get help??

4) sleep are road killers
how many accidents are cause by sleeping behind the wheel? if humans are not to sleep? how nice will that be? the police will have less cases to deal with. the firemen will see less bodies. hospitals will have more time to deal with much more serious cases. and people can make road a safer place. so, again i prove myself, humans should not sleep.

5) sleep causes lose of jobs and a slow economic growth
heard of the reason being fired from job because he slept during working hours? napping is a kind of sleep too. when 1 person sleeps in a job, MAN hours are wasted again. PLUS, causing no work done, making the economic growth of the company slows down which then literally slows down the economic growth of the whole country. who to blame? the people who NEEDS TO SLEEP!!!!

6) sleep contributes to the increase use of natural resources.
people sleep on beds. beds are made of material of natural resources exp, wood, metal, etc etc. mattress are made of synthetic material, which is not bio-degradable. so, when you are done with your mattress, what will you do with it? it will not rot away and u have successfully contribute to more rubbish to the planet. are you happy with it?? i have not calculate the amount of resources to build BEDROOMS.

7) sleep causes grumpiness
wake a sleeping person up. and most probably he/she might be grumpy. will that person be grumpy if they don't need to sleep? no right? not only that, sleep also causes people to be depress, unmotivated and lazy. people who are lack of sleep will show signs of lack of motivation and not willing to perform task at their optimum output. if humans don't need to sleep, the world will be so much more a cheerful place

8) sleep contribute to drug addiction
how many people especially students rely of caffeine to keep them awake and going throughout the day? how many nocturnal drivers take stimulants to keep them awake while performing their task? caffeine is a type of drug and its addictive. and brings negative effects to the body. but why people still takes them? their reason will be LACK OF SLEEP. if humans need not to sleep, then there will not be a reason for them to take caffeine anymore.

with this 8 reasons, clearly shows that SLEEP CAUSES DEATH, LOST OF TIME, POLLUTING THE WORLD, AND ALL THE BAD STUFF THAT'S HAPPENING TO US. and all of this comes from something lots of people crave for. SLEEP. humans should be build to not sleep.

SLEEP KILLS!!!

p/s: this post is by a tired person which wants to sleep but cant due to there are things needed to be done before he is able to do so. and yes, he is grumpy, a drug addict, and he regreted that he had to contribute to more rubbish to the world.

my new best friend

coming back in the cold,
with cuts and wounds,

cleaning them stings me,
yet i have no other choices,
.

to get my new best friend,
'showing' my cuts to my dear friend,
and my friend said
don't worry, i will make u feel better.

yet strong in a way,
protects me from further pain,
and cover my wounds from everything.

the orange

uni had already started about 3 weeks and i still cant get the momentum going. the study 'ball' is still sitting there and gathering moss, fungus, mushrooms, and i think spiders are going to call it home soon. nevertheless, there are so many many many things happening til there is no time for this.

a little updates, i am now currently working now =) i got a part time job at a restaurant as a kitchen hand. its kinda funny. for the 4 weeks of holidays, i didn really went for a job hunt. but when uni started, i got my 1st job at the 1st week of my 2nd sem. so now i am working during the weekends nights and earning.. erm... some money =) looking forward for holiday trips =) yay~

next. i am officially an aussie blood doner~ i had just donated 470ml of blood and safe 3 lives~ haha.. no biggie actually. went to the red cross to donate blood for fun. and got poke 3 times. 2 on a same day and 1 more 5 days later. initially i went last friday with a group of friends. and for blood doners, before donating u must fill in couple of forms and also pass the haemoglobin test before donating. well i pass all of them. but, something happen during donation. they poke the big huge needle into my left arm 1st. well, everything goes well in the 1st 5 seconds, until i saw my blood shoot out of the punctured hole. so, they tried on my right arm but my vein was too small for the huge needle. apparently, there the needle slip because the blood pressure in my vein was so strong that it push the needle out of my body. how cool is that?? hahaha.. so dat was the 1st 2 holes. the last one was from yesterday. which i manage to donate without much hassle. services for blood donation here is very good. free food after donating too =) hahaha..

busy with uni stuff and catching up with time now. 1 assignment, 1 presentation and 1 reading report due next week... sien wei~ stupid stupid subject....... *curse*curse*curse*

dats all for now~

p/s: mayb i have to practice metta soon.....

podiatry

its already half a year doing this program in the 1st year of my uni. as time goes by, many will ask me whether i am really interested in the feet making me sound like a feet maniac or a serial rapist/killer that hunts for my victim tru their feet. and i guess people are just curious that why there are people willing to spend the rest of their life looking at problematic foot/feet.

i had an uncle who use to say being a doctor is a depressing occupation. quoting him "everyday you go to work and see people in sickness, agony and pain. you also will feel depress". maybe some might say doctors earn tonnes of money from their job. but i must say doctors, dentist, podiatrist and many more health care professions earn their daily bread and butter from the suffering from other people. isn't it cruel??

back to my future health care profession as a podiatrist, its kinda disappointing that each time before i start explaining or while i am explaining what is podiatry, question such as 'do you do feet reflexology' or 'are you studying how to massage the sole of the foot' or similar question like those. nevertheless, as i explain, different reaction appears from their faces.

i will here by explain what are the tasks a podiatry will do. from my understanding, podiatrist are people who care for the foot/feet. and the word 'care' here meas we take care of the overall health of the feet. a simple comparison i can make is podiatrist is a specialist to the feet as dentist is a specialist to the feet. and yes, we get to stick needles into peoples feet and then cut their nail off. gross?? better not get and in grow nail then.

things we do ranges from treating feet disorder, nail trimming, care for wounds on the feet, making orthodontics, improving balance, reducing fall-risk, and many many more. those that continue can upgrade to be a foot surgeon which allow him/her to cut open people's feet to change their toe arrangements. hahaha.. not interested in surgery?? how about forensics?? go n train under the FBI to read footprints and help the police to solve cases. no i am not joking. my lecturer is one.. hahaha..

so who i will be treating?? podiatry sees patients from babies to old people. thou there are more elderly patients needed foot care compare to babies. this is due to the inability for the elderly to cut their toe nails properly therefore we will help deal with their nails. also, we are involve heavily in diabetic patients where we try to prevent their toes, feet or leg being cut off from erm.. rotting?? other stuff such as improving posture of the body by altering the feet, improving footwear, doing research for better making better shoes for big shoe companies is also one of our future of choice.

till today, i still can't come out with a solid answer on why i ended up in podiatry and i will be making money out of people's feet miseries. maybe i will go, "oh, he has 3 in grow nails =) my lucky day~" ok.. dats evil.

new sem~

i dont remember whether i did complain about the previous course when all of the pods students were force to take a subject which has little relevance to their future job. nevertheless, it was really a painful task to complete. looking forward after the 1st sem with that subject into the second sem with more exciting and more pod stuff to study.

the 1st week of 2nd sem was kinda ice cold. cold weather doesn't even help to make going back to uni an easy and exciting task. nevertheless, the cold blooded lectures shoots us with assignments already. 2 assignments due in the middle of august. and weekly reading report to submit. more to come... and all this are just given to us on the FIRST WEEK!!!!

its into the 2nd week of sem now. and the weather is getting wetter and wetter everyday. rain rain rain. heat wave is so much more better than winter. thou heat wave means temperature hitting about 40 degrees daily and winter hitting 4 degrees daily and both is not enjoyable moments in adelaide, but given me prefering the warm than the cold summer is always better.

holidays was more fun than i expected. i met more people than i expected and i really enjoy the company. too much of good also is not a good stuff. going to disappoint some of them now i think.. hmmm... dont like this feeling. sigh~

damn... i need some1 to make my study spirit come back. seriously, i need to stick to those that study. peer preasure can work on me. in the good way i mean. at least dats how i study on the 1st sem. peer presure works... =)

anyhow, back to my reading material now. mind set is important. i like uni. i like studying. i like anatomy. i like physiology...... *self repeating*
