student chef~

frying my 1st egg way back 11 years ago and started playing with knives and fire in the kitchen since form 3 has basically trained me to identify what food is edible and what is not. plus, adding staying away at a total of almost 2 years now has increase my of course my skills and also.. most important of all, immune system(MAN in kenawai according to emily). so.. if you take exams levels as a comparison... i guess i have already reach STPM / a-level / pre U state?? haha.. sounds high huh??
.
butter cake with coffee layers in between
.
with the improvement(or is it by pure luck??) i still own 10 fingers without much scaring from kitchen injuries. of course i didn manage to stay in the kitchen without cuts and burns, but i guess, some people did have part of my DNA in their food when they eat?? nah.. not blood.. just some of my lose epithelial cells from my skin, [ this part has been censored by the writer]. ok.. thats kinda gross... and guess what, my blog is exposed to my housemate!! (daily customer of my cooking) i am so going to frighten them off.... ops...
.

noodles, steak and chinese cabbage
[combination of eastern n western food]

.
being a student cooking is sometimes fun and sometimes pain in the @$$. cooking will be fun when things you cook turn out well and beyond edible. and of course if when you can make new recipes with the existing left overs in the fridge. impressive?? wait till you experience what can people (especially students..) do when they are extremely hungry in the kitchen. while the fun part is when we enjoy our meal, the part where you wonder what to cook with 24KG of chicken quarters is really a pain in the tooooT! and yes, we bought 24KG of chicken quarters which lasted for almost 2 months. i seriously wonder how to mum's and sometimes dads appear dishes that their kids never find bored.... any ideas how they do it?? is it with TLC towards their cookings??
.

chicken pasta.. white sauce

.

the so-call-rule of cooking in this kitchen, as long as is edible, is good. simple huh?? wait till you see the combination. lets name the eaters A,B,C, & D. A n B doesn't eat tomato. A n C doesn't eat brinjal. B doesn't eat cucumber. while C doesn't eat mushroom. the best them, D, eats everything. B very much prefers chinese, while C doesn't really take spicy stuff. A likes hot soups, B eats everything with chili on it. C whereas likes potato. B don't like sour stuff. and B prefer un-smelly fish, A likes noodles t . SOOOOooooooooo....... to meet up with the rule of cooking.... not that hard actually... just impose the 2nd rule.. RULE NUMBER 2: if you don't like it.. don't eat la.. hahahha... ok.. thats not nice to say... remember?? my blog is exposed to my housemate now.. =P
.

seafood pasta.. white sauce

.

well, of course, each chef has their own favourite dish to prepare. personally, i like preparing dishes that has the minimal washing to do after that. minimal washing means, the ability to have cook something with carbohydrates, fibers and protein all in one go. and best of all, you can enjoy the meal straight from the pot or wok. see how efficient is that?? (another words for..... l-a-z-y).
.

butter cup cakes..

.
ok then.. i will now end this with a question.. i was planing to post some 'edible' recipes around.. 1 for my future reference and 2nd maybe i could exchange some recipes from others.... well you know to solve the 'what-to-cook-for-dinner' question.. what do you think??

.
p/s: my aunt has a recipe blog.. so check it out =)

time of our life??

surprisingly it has move into the 4th week after my 2 weeks break.. which means another 5 more week till my 1st exams. sometimes i really wonder why time flies so fast. so fast till that we didn realise whats going on and the next thing we know it will be already in history. some of us say 24 hours isn't enough. while research shows that we are fitting about 30+ hours( i forgot the exact number) while the earth circles the sun once. thats like another 8 bonus hours.. how you may wonder??
.
youngsters nowadays are multitasking at almost every aspect in their life. they watch tv, listen to music, instant messaging on the computer while they are having breakfast. thats like doing 4 things at the same time. another example is some people will read a book while they sit on their throne doing their big business in the loo. that's 2 things together. or shouting into a wireless phone in the bathroom while bathing, or chatting while watching a movie in a different window. or classic example, drinking vodka, talking on the mobile phone, driving down the freeway and evading blaring siren and flashing lights behind(perfect recipe for disaster??). yet we still complain 24 hours is not enough to fuel all the activities we have in mind. i guess for the time being, the only thing i cant think of ways to multi task is when i sleep. who knows, maybe in the future, i will be blogging while i am sleeping.
.
people like me, still being young and high in stamina is still able to make a day with 6 hours of sleep. i did tried 4 hours before.. but i am staying at 6 at the time being. surprisingly, when i need more time, i sacrifices my sleep time. not my other leisure activity time, but i use the one of the most fundamental thing in life, my rest. i don't do gaming, no clubbing either nor not much other time wasting activities like staring at my computer screen watching drama's the whole day. and yes, i find watching what ever TVB dramas or bungalow MD, or desperate husbands or Lost or CSI madagascar created by mankind a big waste of time. so how do i survive a 4 hour sleep and still function as usual the next morning?? well, all thanks to a white, crystalline, bitter alkaloid, C8H10N4O2, usually derived from coffee or tea: used in medicine chiefly as a nervous system stimulant A.K.A caffeine.
.
time, as they say is as precious as gold, or at today's context, oil. aussie petrol price hit $AUD 1.60 per litter. dats like freaking RM 6.00 for the same amount of petrol to fill up a 1.25 coke bottle. (how much is malaysians paying for petrol??) like oil, once burn, its gone. and the bad news of time is, its never replaceable. not like oil, burned oil produce carbon dioxide, which is absorb by trees and bla bla bla.. you know the drill.. and in the end it become petroleum. putting the oil bit aside, time, burn time will be considered history. there is no repeating of history, and we cannot change history. many of times people say, we must make good use of our time. but how?? by doing something meaningful?? or like what beauty pageants say, 'for world peace'??
.
interestingly, people like me, that has a malfunction biological clock, which never recognise whats late and 'its-pass-your-bedtime' thing.. thinking how to fill up this time is stressful at times. not using the time profitably will cause a great sense of guilt building up in me. while using it profitably will have me looking for more things to do. yea yea.. kill me for having so much time around to waste if u want. some might say, go study!! while others answer.. 'go and sleep earlier lah'. both answers is not working at the current time. kinda sucks thinking about it. you can't sleep but you can't study either. sigh~ hey having too much time to waste is kinda stressful too.. knowing you should be doing something but don't know what exactly it is.
.
i have just spend about 20 minutes typing some kind of random time thing above and i wonder whether people understand this.. unwinding the brain is what this all about i guess, sounds emo, but i prefer to call this.. reflection time....

the orange ~ weekly

oh man.. so freaking damn shitty busy!!!!! this was suppose to be a few post but then, i will compress everything into one..

lesson number 1 for the post --> look where u are going.. or in this case, cycling
it was a cool evening. i was cycling towards the city to catch my dinner. as i was going tru the park, my mind suddenly thought of whether did i switch on the back like of my bicycle.... so to check, i twist my body to the back, and check.. ah yessss... my back light is switch on... and suddenly
*THONK!!!!!*
my whole body flew about 1 meter away from my bike and i landed on my left side touching the ground, and my eyes looking straight into the clear gray evening sky.... after lying on the ground for about 30 seconds, i then only realise that i had run my bike in to a light post. noting injured badly, jus some blue black along my left leg regions. after that, kinda phobia of not looking where i am going. ugh...

lesson number 2 for the post --> salt water kills sore throat
having a sore throat of an unknown course is kinda irritating especially its the first thing u notice when your brain starts to recieve impulses from parts of your body in the morning. and whats the fastest and most reliable short term cure for sore throat?? garggle with salt water of course!!! (although strepsils works better). get a cup and dissolve approx 1 tsp of salt and garggle the whole cup of saline solution. i bet you will feel much better after that. feel free to swallow them too.. but i don't really recomend that the 1st liquid that goes into your body is salt water.. hahaha..

was a freaking long and tired day yesterday. got woken up at 6.15 from a friend. then drag myself off the bed and out of the house into the cold early morning to a bus stop. and then joined a 10 km hike for about 3 and a half hours long. den had a bbq lunch with lots of walking around. den went back and walk again.. and again and again.. and i ended back home at 12 a.m. total time walk in the day is almost 6 hours and i guess i cover almost 20 km.. will update some pics on the hiking trail soon... in a nutshell.... i am DEAD TIRED!!!!! i reach home half zombie like and starting to lose my voice.

lesson number 3 of the post ==> if u don't get enough rest.. u get sick
yeah.. i am in a middle of a flu now... so.. i guess this sentence speaks out all. =.=

stupid....

how stupid can this be??
i quote from a news in the malaysian insider:

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim had proposed on Saturday that all women travelling out of the country alone be required to show a letter from their employer or family in a move to stop Malaysian women from being duped into carrying drugs for international syndicates.

our new foreign minister wants all FEMALE to get concent from family members before traveling overseas alone!!! CONCENT FROM FAMILY MEMBERS!!!! oh man... how can he be so smart to suggest such things??

if you were saying is an underage child which is traveling alone.. then it can be understood. but what if a grandmother which is in johor and she wants to visit her grand kids in singapore?? does she need to get concent to?? selat teberau is a sea also rite??
"Boy.. i want to visit my cucu in singlaporr next week.. can help me buy bus ticket??"
"can... i go get concent form for you tomorrow......"
son go get concent from the next day... and due with all the paper work and red tape.... poor grandma can only see her grand child half a year later..........
don't you think it sound weired??

so what about guys that travel alone overseas?? do they need concent?? if the minister thinks that guys don't need this kind of 'weired' stuff, don't u think is bias to females?? or the minister things that girls are not mature enough and too inocent to travel alone and they need someone to babysit them all day long??

lucky our PM is smart to strike out this proposal. one of the few good answers from our dear PM... phew~

so...... what about those animal smuglers?? rice smugglers?? oil?? flour??

updates.... the star reported that the proposal is only for those age under 21..... what difference shall it make??

free??

msn personal message of someone --> who is free this minute, second??

looking at this statement, the 1st thing that come to one's mind will be free as in having nothing to do. or is free in the sense that he or she is taking a break from something to do (like me now..). Obviously, it can be safely assume people that is reading the 2 lines above and the ones onwards is free. even the person blogging this is considerably free in despite having a test and an assignment to study and do respectively. back to the point.. who is free this minute, second??

despite being busy with all the revisions, assignment, baby sitting and work, most of us are free at almost every minute. free as in, we are free to choose what we want to do. We have the freedom in the new world that is not rule by a king and only do what the king commands one to do. most of us are free to do at almost everything we want to do without breaking the law( can this be considered as cutting away the freedom from us??). we can drive to the beach at 1 in the morning or we can walk down the street without asking for a permission from others (unless u are 13 and bellow??) we are free to choose what we want to eat, drink and of course we are free to choose how we want to live. we are also free to choose whether we need to help to increase population numbers. (we cant really help to decrease them thou...). we are free to have our own rational believes as well.

considering all the short points above, now, who can tell me they are not free?? if you are reading this, you are already having the freedom to access the internet and read blogs which are ban in certain countries.

=========================
here is 1 of the FAQ that i encounter during my stay here....

Q: why orange??
A: well, there are many fruit names that is nice... for example, apple. but apple is more of a girl's name which sounds erm.. sweet?? while banana is a name which is name after chinese that don't know chinese.. thou i have a friend that is good in chinese that name himself banana.. while strawberry is kinda long.. and people might call 'straw' for short.. and watermelon is just not right for me.. i am generally too thin to be name so. but most important of all, i am not too sure why orange got stuck on me... nevertheless, i am not a big fanatic on orange as in the fruit or the color, but i still wonder why orange myself.
p/s: no offence to other names above.. they are all nice names.... =)
========================

its official!!! i had watch chicken little!!! and i realise i am no where close to him!!! yay!!!
few reasons to prove this...
  1. i am not a chicken.

  3. i dun stay in a chicken coup
  4. i had never encounter any alien invasion in my life... nor experience a piece of the sky shape like a stop sign fall on my head every summer.
