my future.

i will look back upon him who taught me this art even as one of my parents. i will share my substance with him, and i will supply his necessities, if he be in need. i will regard his offsprings even as my own brothers, and i will teach them this art by precept, by lecture and by every mode of teaching, not only to my sons, but to the sons of my teacher, and to disciples bound by covenant and oath according to the Law of Medicine but to none others

I will follow that method of treatment which according to to my ability and judgment. I consider for the benefits of my patients, and not for their hurt or wrong. i will give no deadly drug to any, though it be asked of me, nor will i counsel such, and especially i will not aid a woman to procure abortion.

what soever house i enter, i will go into for the benefit of the sick, refraining from all wrong doing or corruption, and especially from any act of seduction, of male or female, of bond or free. whatsoever things i see or hear concerning the life of men, in my attendance o the sick or even apart, i will keep silence thereon, counting such as sacred secrets.

haha... yupp.. i got and officially i am going to to podiatry. yes. P-O-D-I-A-T-R-Y. Podia-what?? whats that?? to save time and for faster understanding.. i decided to post a video!! haha

watch...

well.. in malaysia this is a brand new medical field and the only resources i can find is tru the web. but this field is very well matured in the western countries like the states and australia.. i didnt even know this field exist till i did some research on health science courses. so basically a podiatrist is dealing with the feet. yes feet.. the two little feet of yours.

here is two other links that can help u understand podiatry better.. click here and here
i would like to suggest those that plan to take any medical courses to browse the forum website.. its kinda US-ish.. but still tones of info in them.. hehe..

why i choose this course?? its kinda long story.

it all begin long long long time ago... long before your time.. haha.. well.. it started this year with the uni application fever.. well.. i aim was to be a doctor.. a specialist to be exact.. and i still remember i am like the only one saying that i wan to be the job i presented in the job description project in IS.. funny.. my plans never work out well.. i got a place in Krusk state medical university(KSMU) which is in Kursk state, Russia. yes Russia.. the ex-communist country.. but due to the late answer from the ministry of higher education, i didn't accept the offer to Russia. which then surprise me that many people was glade i didn't go to Russia.. i then apply to Australia for physiotherapy.. i got the conditional offer and the condition is that i send in a copy of my certify a-level statement.. and guess what?? pos malaysia was slow and i didn't manage to get into physio for next year's intake!! so quickly.. i switch to podiatry. n at last the whole thing end. of course i did apply to the whole Australia and also the New Zealand.

through out the whole process going tru the waiting, and looking at all the bad news before the good one comes.. i know lots of people have gone tru this process. and i guess its kinda normal to all.. i have been thinking whether i did the correct choice in this. this will be one of the few biggest choices one made in his or her life. and i am kinda crazy to choose this because there is no reference in Malaysia for me to refer. try typing podiatry in malaysia in google search. i guess there is but very very little.. and of course there is non in sandakan. but thanks to internet, i guess i know the tip of the ice berg of this job. i guess i manage to escape the great jobs circle(doctor, engineer, pharm, dentist) by choosing a brand new field. i am already crazy to choose physiotherapy because its also unknown to public... whats more podiatry. its alien to them. i told a few of my friends.. "i am taking podiatry" and the next question will be "wats dat??" so i guess there in no exposure in malaysia.

i will be wearing a labcoat when i work, but the stethoscope will not be able to be my best friend.. i won't see people with problems other than problems with their feet.. but i guess i play a role in the health science field as well.. depends on how we look at the matter.. just yesterday i was chating with my friend and the question on how you look at a half field cup came up.. here is the answer
me: how do u look at a a half field cup??
this was the answer given my friend, MY
i asked the question once

n the funniest answer i got was...
it all depends on how u look at i
imagine a glass in front of u
if u look at it from the top... it looks full
if u look at it frm the side its half full
if u look at it from the bottom...... (takes glass up and turns it upside down)... its empty

yes i agree.. i wont say more..

--------------------------------------

yeah.. i have been working for the 3rd week now... but i wont talk about them here... jus in case my boss is reading.. hahaha.. jk larr.. i guess i wont be talking about it because there is nothing much to share... i work from monday to friday, being an admin and teaching asistant, i teach on monday, wednesday and friday... and work half day on tues and thurs... if u wan to know more just ask me larr.. tru msn kah.. email kah... or anything larr.. haha...

alrite thats all for today...
oh fyi: the first 3 paragraph.. its the Hippocratic oath.. something from the father of morden medicine to the doctors today. i always wanted to say it.. but i guess... i will leave it to the doctors.. hehe =)

to all uni applicants.. all da best in your application. and may you get the course you want. and for those that wish me good wishes for my application.. thanks a lot..

Hi Orange
I wanted to be a doctor but did not succeed in getting into a medical school. I had the opportunity of taking up podiatry but did not do so because of foolish ignorance. Since then I have always regretted it. Podiatry is an excellent profession. You will not regret choosing it.
Best wishes,
Older-and-wiser
