Saya anak malaysia -.-'''

can what we build today take us to tomorrow?

have you guys watch the Petronas ad for this Merdeka(2007) its as usual very meaningful. the quote above was taken from the ad itself. Malaysia is going to celebrate 50 years of nationhood this year at the very end of this month. 50 years.. not a short while for a human's life span.. but a country, maybe some of you might like me, for a country, Malaysia is still very very young. simply taking a few bigger countries like US, Uk or some closer countries like China, 50 years is almost nothing to the past they been through. So why are we making a big fuss about it??

Malaysia has of course did lots of things that we can be proud off, we was the only country that won the war against the communist in the whole world, we have the 9th malaysia plan, recently we have the NCER, we are going to launch a new model tin-can, we have our own national tin-can cars on the road, tallest comunication tower, tallest flagpole, own F1 tract, own jagung twin towers. we made the longgest flag, we made the longest pizza, sandwhich, keropok lekor, hot dog, pulut kuning, we got fried 5-1 and 5-0 in recent football games etc etc. yeah YAY!! Malaysia Boleh.

BUT. what can they do? feed thousands of people?? or just put their faces on TV? the nation is now 50 years old and getting older by the day. back to the quote above, can they help us in the future? are we prepare for the 2020 vision?? or are we going to change it to 3030?? or maybe 4040??(i will be reborn about 450 times by then). i have this idea jus a few hours ago. are we going too fast to achieve development? by becoming a developed nation is not an easy thing to achieve especially when we are still facing lots of incoming huddles of development. is 63 years enough for our nation to see everything in order to become a successful develop nation? is not that i don't want vision 2020 to come true, but look around us. we have the dirtiest toilets around, the horrible public transport, spits every conner of the block, people with spoon-feeding attitude, and all those 'tidak-apa' attitude. its infecting all kinds of people not only a certain race, but EVERYONE. don't believe?? go to your nearest town, observe and see. maybe you will see what i mean.

as national day is coming over, kempen kibarkan jalur gemilang is going at full gear now. pretty soon all buses here will be flying all over the place. People will have creative ideas on using the flag example, table cloth, car cover, banner, clothes, cape, hat, or even covering some people on the road after a MVA case. and also we will see people shouting "MAI TIT KA"( rice drop price in chinese) all over the place, merdeka sales all over, school holiday for all students. youngsters will go party o the 30th of the month and shout MAI TIT KA when the clock strike 12, flags wave, fireworks goes... BUT where is the real meaning of it?? does anyone remember?? maybe for some is just another 24 hours of holiday. after that?? does anyone remember that day anymore? 20 years form now, if we ask how did we celebrate our 50th merdeka celebration, do people still remember?? where is the cintakan tanah airku spirit?

rite.. i think i should stop now before i get caught by ISA for u-know-wat reasons. anyway our nation will be 50 years old this year, convert to human-life-span-years, maybe 5?? but 5, 50 or 500, happy birthday malaysia, may you grow strong healthy and free soon. merdeka merdeka merdeka...

oh ya.. i really which to read your point of view so please use the 'comment' function. thanks!!
