arival & day 1~ adelaide

after disembarking the plane, all passengers have to go through immigration and get their passport stamp. immigrations officers were friendly and efficient. i realise there are many security personels working there were females, comparing to those in malaysia. No cameras are aloud in this area. after the immigration counters, i proceded to get my cargo bags. there, there is a sniffer dog that walk agound the place sniffing bags for plants and food products. after getting my bags, i then proceed to the customs where they scanned my bag again, and took my declaration form. they let me go as there were nothing suspisious found from my bag... hahaha

i was warmly welcome by the UniSA reception group and was given a short info about adelaide and things like that. then waited for other UniSA students to come out, and then off we go =) 3 other 3rd year pharmasist students were in the same car as me to our houses in different locations. temperature in adelaide the day i landed was at about 20-21 degrees, which makes you feel like you are walking in a air con room. here, in the buildings are actually warmer than the out side. totally opposite from malaysia... hahaha.. these were taken from the car....

"chinese" like arch

a street, and electrict poles

very beautiful church building.. plenty in adelaide =)

a mall in the city

the van that took us home from the airport

random buildings...

central market, where u get all your wet groceries

people waiting for the light to turn green before crossing
never happen in malaysia

more random buildings

i reach home and saw my brother, then i settle down, and sleep. Since my brother has classes, therefore i got his bed. hahaha.. i woke up 5 hours later, and then, prepare to go out for dinner. Usually, everyone will cook for dinner, but then since there is nothing in the fridge, therefore, all of them decided to go for dinner in the city. i got the chance to explore adelaide. i must say, walking in adelaide is so very much safer than in malaysia. foot and bicycle path are all over the place. and also is very handicap friendly too =) i have already seen many blind people walking and alot of wheelchair users around adelaide city. back to dinner trip. walking in the evening is kinda cold especially when the wind is blowing, but when there is no wind, its okay.

once we reach the restaurant, i guess my face kinda dried up.. there is like some weired feeling there.. lips are usually dry, but drinking water helps.. anyway, went to a chinese restaurant and had dinner. not too bad.. the food is nice and i get to eat kangaroo meat =) had a wonderful dinner. btw.. the sky is still bright although its 8 p.m. because its summer now.. it darkens earlier when its winter.

reach home again at about 9, and then bath and call mum n aunt. jus to let them know i am alive and made it to adelaide all and well, and then call it a night. =)
~end of day 1~
